I know from my own experiences that living across cultures can provide many benefits and opportunities, including meeting interesting people and learning about their traditions and treasures, learning new languages, exploring far-off places that some only read about, learning more about ourselves and the world around us, and forming dear friendships with others across the globe!
I also know that moving and living abroad is not all champagne and roses. Despite my exciting, enriching, and exhilarating adventures, my globally mobile lifestyle has sometimes felt stressful, frustrating, and exhausting. When far away from home, away from friends and loved ones, away from a familiar language and currency, and away from stores that sell the ingredients for your favorite recipes, you may feel discouraged and overwhelmed, but you are not alone. I'm here to help you and provide you with tried and tested techniques and tools to help you win over these big feelings and focus on purpose and joy!
I am also here to guide you while job searching, or considering a career change during your global journey. Through coaching, positive psychology, and relevant tools, I will help you gain clarity, purpose, and direction to pursue your career interests and possibilities.
I will stand by your side in your global relocation and cultural transitions, helping you to maintain your identity, honor your authenticity, and celebrate what you bring with you as you connect across cultures and add value to your local society. Your sense of belonging and well-being is essential to your mental health and adjustment, not only when you settle but as you integrate.
I also offer presentations, workshops, and other resources for schools, companies, and organizations wanting to increase their support for internationals relocating to Denmark.

In my 'Danes and Denmark' group seminars, I provide insight and resources to guide international newcomers as they settle into their new life in Denmark. Through my experience of moving to Denmark four times over the past three decades, to study and to work, I fully understand the many questions, considerations, and practicalities of relocating and settling here--as an individual and also with my family.
I also understand the importance of learning the Danish language for daily survival, building a network, and integration into Danish society.
I moved here in 2008 to work at Copenhagen Business School with different aspects of global mobility, intercultural programming, and the integration of internationals into local and Danish communities.

A globally mobile lifestyle can be very colorful, enriching, and impactful on children in unique ways. Growing up in a global village offers children an invaluable education, insight, and perspectives only found in the World's classroom.
To celebrate and support TCKs on their global journeys, I offer activities so they can connect with other children who identify with the global lifestyle and point of view. Through fun activities, TCKs can reflect on their unique identities, build special friendships, and discover how to say 'good goodbyes' when relocating internationally. TCK clubs and activities are a great way for young sojourners to gain new skills and build community with friends 'who get it'!
When moving my children to the Middle East, I witnessed first-hand their growth and transformation beyond their Danish-American identities as they adapted to and sometimes adopted the ways of our host culture in Saudi Arabia. As they embraced our new way of life, my children evolved from being cross-cultural kids (CCKs) into what I learned were considered third-culture kids (TCKs.) Their identity straddled not only what my Danish husband and I bestowed upon them, but also part of our new world and culture of Saudi Arabia. They even called Saudi home for many years and our time there helped to shape them into who they are and will always be a part of their identity!
Inspired by my own experiences, I offer guidance to families with third-culture kids to support the smooth transition of TCKs. Through research-based resources, activities, and programs, I help families and children understand and celebrate the colorful identities that TCKs develop while living globally so that they may thrive.

With countless programs, degrees, and certificates offered at colleges and universities across the Globe, I am here to help youth and families manage the entire process for students from 8th grade through graduation--even those who want to take a gap year.
Through professional and personalized college counseling I help make the college search and application process more transparent while reducing stress and uncertainty for students and families. I help to identify excellent educational programs and institutions where students can thrive holistically and pursue the career of their dreams!
I am here to help de-mystify the world of higher education, save time, minimize stress, and make the college application process manageable for the whole family. Students can focus on their high school studies, and life as a teenager, while I am here to support their college exploration, preparation, and application process as little or as much as needed.
Studying internationally for college or university requires significantly more research, consideration, and preparation than going on exchange or college in one's own country. Therefore, I work closely with each student to match their academic profile, personal interests, and financial situation, to help identify best-fit programs, institutions, and environments where they can thrive holistically while at college.
Using various career and personality assessments, interviews, and planning tools, I help students identify what is most essential for their future academic program and study environment, plus career, cultural, and social opportunities that will allow them to flourish at college.
My focus is supporting students and families holistically, so I am here to help navigate the unknown territory from exploration to application, selection, enrollment, and even as students transition to and through the first semester in college, so they get off to a good start!

My journey started in small town America, a town known as "Michigan's Little Bavaria," but at 16 years old, I left for one year to be a Rotary Youth Exchange Student in Denmark. As with many others, this year changed my life in countless ways. It not only increased my desire to travel the Globe, but it also inspired me to help others explore and experience the World, while also supporting them on their journeys.
I began my career in the US with a focus on international education, cultural transitions, intercultural communication, and international talent attraction and retention at three large, extremely diverse, and dynamic universities. Following my desire to live and work abroad, and my love of Denmark, and in 2008 I moved to Denmark for work at Copenhagen Business School.
Later, I met my Danish husband, started a family, and bought a home to settle down. But, life presented us the opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia for work, so we took the chance and moved with our toddlers from Greater Copenhagen to a remote desert village along the shores of the Red Sea. We were constantly enriched by so many different cultures while our children became part of a global community of Third Culture Kids, calling Saudi Arabia home for many years!
Now, we reside in rural Denmark, amidst a growing international community on the island of Lolland. My children attend the local international school and I dedicate my time and energy to community building, supporting international education, intercultural communication, and providing transitions support to globally mobile individuals, couples, and families.
Through one-on-one and group coaching and counseling, I offer insight, personalized guidance, and valuable tools, resources, and programs to individuals, families, and organizations in the areas of career guidance, college counseling, intercultural communication training, life coaching, cultural transition support, and TCK care.
Well-being counseling has been an integral part of my work for almost 30 years. With my holistic approach, I coach and counsel others in their transitions to help minimize stress and foster enjoyment while adjusting to life abroad or when repatriating.
Working in the US, England, Denmark, and Saudi Arabia, my entire career has focused on promoting and facilitiating global mobility, while educating, guiding, and supporting individuals and their families throughout their global transitions.
I have had the privelege of working in vastly different cultures and settings across three continents throughout my career. My areas of expertise include career, university, and well-being counseling; the management of international education programs and services; global talent attraction, onboarding, and retention; intercultural communication training; and cultural transition coaching.
